Authentic New York Style Bagels

Aldo Stassi
Owner / Operator
Our founder was born in Palermo, Italy and moved with his family to America in the 1950s, settling in the New York area. Memories of growing up to the smells and tastes from the local bakery was a terrific experience. He worked for a major airline for 35 years, traveling extensively around the world, always intrigued by the many cultures and variations of food he discovered.
After being a successful business owner with involvement in the food industry for over 50 years, Aldo decided to begin the process of making a long time dream come true. In April 2022, that dream was realized when Music City Bagels, an authentic New York Style Bagel Bakery/Café, opened in Anniston, Alabama. In March 2025, he relocated the business to Oxford, Alabama, where it has continued to thrive.

What Makes a True NY Bagel?
A New York Style Bagel has a shiny crust with a little bit of hardness and a nice glaze. The inside is very chewy, but not overly doughy. It has a slight tang to the taste, and it is not too big. A New York Style Bagel must have a hole and a generous topping on both sides. Our dedicated process is what a true New York Style Bagel is all about.
